What Lube is Compatible with Silicone Toys? – Sexdollformen Real Sex dolls Sex toys

Silicone sex toys are among the best for a reason. They come in a variety of firmnesses, textures, and colors. They are also non-porous and safe to swap between orifices or partners after you sterilize them. But you may have heard that silicone toys are not compatible with some lubricants and been reluctant to try them. Silicone sex toys are compatible with most personal lubricants, but there are exceptions.

Which Lube Is Safe to Use With silicone Toys?

Water-based lube (including aloe vera based lube) is compatible with silicone toys. This lube washes off easily, is affordable, and will not damage condoms. In fact, you can use it for pretty much any sexual activity if you like it!

Oil-based lubes are also safe to use with pure silicone toys. However, they can degrade latex, so you do not want to use them with condoms or rubber sex toys. Oil-based lube is excellent for anal play but can stain your linens. Natural oils (think coconut, jojoba, etc) are safe for vaginal use but avoid using synthetic lubes like those in lotions and creams for toys that you use vaginally.

What About Silicone Lubes?

You might think that silicone toys and silicone lube go well together because they are made of the same thing, but that is exactly why these items are incompatible. The silicone molecules in the lube can sometimes react with the silicone in a sex toy, changing the texture of the toy. You may notice that a silicone toy becomes sticky if you use silicone lube with it. The toy is no longer nonporous when this happens.

However, high-quality silicone lube and sex toys may be compatible. To test, place a small amount of lube on the base of the toy that will not come in contact with your body and rub vigorously for 5 to 10 minutes. If the toy becomes tacky, do not use that lube with it. If you notice no change, you should be good to go, however.

Some lubes are described as hybrid formulas. They contain water and either oil or silicone (look for ingredients ending in -one) and may not be compatible with your silicone toys.

Note that softer silicone toys sex such as dual-density dildos may be more likely to react with silicone lubes. So you may opt to only used water-based lube with them or cover the toy with a condom during use.
